Default New unit creation

Okay, i finished creating my units in the rulesmd.ini file. Now, 2 things:

1.) Do I have to add the unit to the unit list, and if so, is an airship modeled from the Kirov a vehicle or air unit?

2.) When I've completed everything, how do i stick it back into the *.mix file?

I am using xcc mixer 1.25, if that helps anyone

pls respond

1.) [VehicleTypes] list, unless you changed how it flies/moves.

2.) what do you want to stick back in the *.mix file?

The *.ini files work in the RA2 directory and inside the *.mix files that are in the RA2 directory.

So, if i changed its name, owner, and some attributes, i dont have to add it to the list?

And, for rulesmd.ini, i dont have to put it back in the *.mix file it came from. I just put in ra2.exe's directory?[/quote]

You always have to add it unless it is the origional unit with changes. Make sure you dont add the *.ini files back into the origional *.mix files. them the effect will be perminent. Make a new .mix file and call it expand##.mix (Expandmd.mix if YR).

Don't bother with putting the ini files in mix's there isn't any point ATM (at the moment).

Apparently I wasn't as clear as I thought.

If you cloned ( made a copy of ) the Kirov then you need to add it to the [VehicleTypes] list. What I meant earlier was that it should be added to the [VehicleTypes] list and not the [AircraftTypes] list unless you changed how it flies/moves.

NEVER and I repeat never modify the original mix files ( ra2.mix, language.mix, ra2md.mix, and langmd.mix).

Just put it in the RA2 game directory, you don't want to put the new version in the mix after every little change to it.

You might consider getting AIM or MSNM, as they are both free services.
