Default can vehicletypes deploy into vehicles?

is it possible to have a vehicletype deploy into another vehicletype? eg a rhino tank deploys into a grizzly tank?

if not can buildings act like vehicles? eg move round the map but NOT like the mcv

Not sure what you're asking, but probably not. Vehicles can only become buildings and buildings can only become vehicles. At least I think that's how it is.

only way to do anything like that (can also be modified for use as a minelayer) is to make a unit that deploys into an invisible building, and with that invisible building you get a free unit of the kind you wanted to deploy into. not sure of the exact code though, been a while since i modded RA2.

Its a special case utilizing the UnloadingClass= parameter, like for harvesters.
Anyway, its hardcoded not to move.

How about a Vehicle that deploys into a Building, the Building undeploys into Vehicle2 and Vehicle2 deploys into Building2 and that one undeploys into Vehicle?

You can make it deploy and change its image, but it won't be able to move or change weapons.

To do that, add IsSimpleDeployer=yes, and UnloadingClass= to the voxel image or rules.ini vehicle (that is a voxel). Not sure which one it is.

That's only semi-correct...in fact it will change it's weapon as soon as it deploys...from the Primary to the Secondary weapon...
(i.e. moving unit uses Primary= to fire, deployed one uses Secondary=)

I think this is as close as you can get, tk2...the only drawback is, that it can't move...

If you don't like that, ComradeJ's method would work...but it's kinda...you know...build-move-deploy-undeploy-move-fire-deploy-undeploy-move-fire-deploy-undeploy-move-fire-deploy-undeploy-move-fire-etc-etc...
