Default Question about Jumpjet

Well I found a nice way to solve the problems with the Rocketeers. As you guys know Rockies are very bugged and sometimes when they to die and fall they fall on something and stay there and other units keep shooting at them and they get elite. I have a good solution for it, is it possible to make Rockies explode in the air when they die rather than falling down? It would fix the bugs.

1st: I never encountered this "bug".
2nd: What you describe here sounds like you messed up your Rocketeer-Sequence so that it doesn't have a death-animation anymore. Fixing that should fix the problem.

This is a very commonly seen and very annoying bug. I have had my own prism tanks destroy my own buildings while shooting at fallen rocketeers, and I have even seen deployed GIs shoot at the fallen rocky and get the kill, getting promoted in the process! The bug is, the stupid things aren't actually "dead" until they are done playing their falling sequence.

This is what DeeZire told me when we talked about it on the old forums a while ago. I copied it down for later reference but never bothered implementing anything... just never got around to it.

"I think the Rocketeer fix lies in the ART.INI Sequence - unlike TS, they use the AirDeathStart etc etc load of crap that doesnt seem to work properly. Much better to give them a DeathAnims= of a Rocketeer falling and just have them explode in the air as in TS."

Note the RocketeerSequence is also used by the Cosmonaut, so you'd have to fix him too.

can I just makethe rocketeer have a death weapon in the air? or something? i dont want it to fall to the ground really as it causes alot of bugs

ahhah shows who here played alot of ra2/yr

Some people just use Rocketeers more than others or for different purposes, i.e. scouting.

I was thinking along the same lines, but still you have to get rid of all that AirDeath art garbage. Try it and let me know if it works.

How about when your dog jumps for a fallen rocky, and then when he unlimbos he's stuck in one of your most expensive buildings? That's a double bug I really like :tard:
