Country flags - how to?

Hi there, problem is as follows:
I've replaced America by a new side, called Star Forces; I've tried to add a new flag for them to be shown when selecting a country or on the diplomacy-tab, and it is actually shown, but it is totally corrupt.

I've tried several variations, like adding the pcx and the shp, adding only the shp, only the pcx, compiling the shp without compression...but nothing changes...

Could somebody please give me detailed information on how to get a non-corrupt flag shown up, 'cause this really drives me mad...

EDIT: Important: by "corrupt" I do not mean that the colors are wrong - it can't be a palette-problem...it's in the correct colors, it's just..."fucked up"...

hmm if u mean it sort of doesn't know where it begins or ends..i had that problem..i ahd some one who did country flags but he (buzzaw45) has been missing since november

The flag file must b pcx file, and have to b placed directly inside the ra2 directory.

note in yr it must be shp...or atleast thats what im told

As an example, in the "Pheonix" mod i saw they used pcx flag for modified yuri flag.

Btw, Renegade's Mod "Total Destruction" had been released, so, he might have got the proper solution.

the country flags need to be:

in pcx
loose in the RA2 directory
named correctly
in the correct palette

I've never done it myself, but that's what I've heard.

what bout yr..yr is diffrent..that was what i was told...
maybe your right..

my problem was that the icon over laped it self half way

Actually, I released my mod without fixing that...since it's a beta anyway, I've got enough time to fix it now...

Thanks all of you for helping me - now that two people said it has to be in the game-directory, I'll just put it there and see what happens...

eh Kravvitz a pcx doesn't use palettes so that cant affect it
