Default For those who use 3ds max...

Ok.. i got good questions for ya. I have 3ds max... I heard some people use the quake 2 modeler to make SHP units for RA2. If i'm gonna use 3ds max... and I import some model... like from nendo or wings or somewhere.... how do I go about making the animation and determaining what will be the numbers in the INI files that represent the character cheering or punching, etc. Thanx.

Also... do any of you here use Poser?

you are so full of crap. so, you got a piece of software that sells for the low low price of $3200 second hand for £10, riiiight, I believe that. *cough*pirated*cough* besides, anyone who's ever used high end software before knows that all the documentation is included on the cd. it only gets stripped off for illegal internet distribution.

when you set your model up in 3dsmax too show off to others, you render and it adds purty lights and shading stuff...

(on the menu bar: render->render scene->set your settings, choose a file to save to and hit render (go to render->enviroment and you can choose the enviroment lighting and the background of the renders))

If I didn't know better I would swear that you were losing your temper there man, well just like Sir_Phoenixx has explained, that's what rendering is, that is outputting your creation with all the lighting shading and all that as a final/preview. I think the default shortcut is shift + r or is it q, well that's what it is in version 4, am pretty sure it's shift+q though, and i have been using it for almost 6 months now and still have a ton to learn, without documentation your best bet will be places like www.spoono.com.
And I doubt anyone busy that crap bout you getting it cheap cheap for second hand

Actually, you never know about prices now. Surplus stuff is REALLY cheap, I can get 10 diamond tipped dremel accesories for $6! And tungsten-carbide bits (set of 10) for like $8! Anyhoo, about your qeustion, can't help ya there. I'm the po' fool who had to get MilkShape. It's low polygon, but hey, so is 3ds-vxl converter. EVILSNOWMAN!

Default ????????????????

That's nice....

I got Nendo, Wings 3d, 3ds Max, Poser 4, Lightwave, Rhino, 3D Exploration... 3ds to vxl. I'm willing to get my hands on any program.

I got the stuff to make voxels... that's simple no doubt. But making new animated infintry units is the hard part. You can't just simply make it with the SHP editor... just like you can't just simply make a voxel with the Voxel Editor.

My point here is... what is the friggin program I need to make these animated SHP units??????????

I've seen a Tekka unit made... it was 200 + frames. I can't sit down and draw each frame out by mouse with MSPaint..... :tard: but i'm getting close to that point.... because i've been everywhere looking for this help... and I keep hearing to use the Quake 2 modeler.... and that stinkin thing don't work.

UGGGGGGGGGG :dead:

help me!!!!!!!

Assuming your in the UK, do you even know how much it is there ?

£ 3000

You paid £ 10 ?

Now think how correct that sounds.

Either you got ripped, you got w4rez, or have an older version that someone upgraded from which is still illegal.

No matter how you look at it, it has to be illegal.

The offical version comes with a disk with textures. Bet theres no help files either ? or the long a$$ tutorials that show you from building a box to blowing up planets.
