Hmm i dont think it impossible. I made an aircraft with carryall=yes, then only added it to aircraft list. I didn't added it in padaircraft list and set AirportBound=no and Landable=yes. Now when i built another plane in the airpad, then built the carryall plane, it came from out of map, but land at ground. I did it a long ago and changed the concept, so i dont know actually this method is the correct one, but i got the carryall come from out of map. The only bad thing is it'll b found at airpad after building when the airpad is empty, and when the airpad is full, it'll come from out of map and will land at ground. And i don't know if Carryall=yes is nessesery.

I believe that was left over from TS. In TS, if you had a full helipad, and you built another helicopter, it would fly in from outside the map.

MMk4C01 is referring to RA1 style when the Longbow chopper is built, it just came from any corner of the map and lands onto to the helipad. the same goes to soviets' hind chopper. it is impossible and the RA1 engine could do that wonder. SeaMan inquired it ages ago. i dunno if he did it..
in TS-based RA2, it is impossible..
about the crew can escape the damaged aircraft that worked in RA1 that could be possible in RA2 as DeeZire said in his "What remains to be discovered" section, it is now possible but only on jumpjet-based aircraft and it never parachutes down to land. the Allied GI just stays in the air and can be killed by rocketeers, but he can attack land-based enemies and structures as well..
