WTF is a genetic rail gun supposed to be? There is nothing genetic about the principles of a rail gun and there is no way that the technology could be applied to altering some targets DNA other than to blow it apart along with most other macromolecular structures in the path of the projectile. If you can't come up with a feasible pseudo-scientific mechanism for a weapon or unit, you probably shouldn't be making it.

Here here. (or is it spelt "Hear hear"??). I read Lpark's idea for the Gen railgun in the old forums - it sounded cool, and if it works, who am I to complain?

I already noticed the FA2 problem when researching stuff for my Homeworld to YR TC. However, the Wooden Fence is meant to be buildable in my other project, as counterpart of Barbed Wire, Chain Link and Sandbags

I agree, but it may still be possible. You implant a virus into a solied form that degrades slowly and has iron inside. This way the electro-magnet is still able to shoot the solid bio-slug at speeds high enough to go through most organisms. The virus would implant ints DNA and RNA into all cells at an amazing rate. This way the cells mutate and the virus then becomes useless. AND YOU GET A GENETIC RAILGUN!

No one in their right mind trying to deliver a controlled, mutagenic substance into an organism would use a rail gun to do it. For a start, the extreme velocity would pretty much preclude the chances of the virus or other biological agent infiltrating the target organism. Not to mention the fact that the target would be ripped apart and killed long before any mutagenic effects take hold. Have some kind of mutation ray that you can just make up properties for, don't call it something that is simply not feasible.

Like a giant rolling brain tank that mindcontrols everything is feasible?

Here's a tip:
Use something to do with radioactivity (radioactivity and radiation are not the same thing in case you're wondering) as radioactivity can actually modify the DNA in your cells, thats why its so deadly. The radiation may rearrange the DNA, instead of destroying it, and there you'd have it; a mutation.
