Default Exporting INI changes...the correct way

It does not seem like my edits to the generals/data/ini/Object/FactionUnit.ini file are being used by my new unit. I have built a .big file with the model, dds files and the modded .ini file all with the appropriate dir structures. However, the game does not seem to find my changes. The unit behaves as if the changes were not their.

When we make changes to an INI file, it is my understanding that the .big file we create should hold the references to the modded or new files. This is how the game knows those changes exist.

Is this correct?

Perhaps some moderator could move this to the Generals-Area...the chance of finding Generals modders in there is kind of higher than to find them here...

actually no, when you make a .big, it wont be recognized by the game until you modify the shortcut.

add the line -mod yourmod.big to the "target" section in the shortcut properties.

Isn't this to do with generals? People tend to look in the "genrals editing" section for generals releated threads. But anyways, back to the topic - I wouldn't know, I havn't even played generals :S
