actually i use tibed sometimes..for some art stuff, i.e. if i wanted to change the color of something..tibed is not n evil program..infact, all the credit goes to it in teaching me the skills of rules and art coding.

I was just joking, but I think notepad stimulates creativity more. If you can't find the tag in an Ini editor you thin kit's impossible, while with good ol' notepad you search for solutions.

dude..just do what you want to do and where you believe is you are omfortable doing your stuff..do it..

btw, Notepad cannot open all the those .INIs with file size 400kb and higher..it just gives the task to Wordpad..'coz Wordpad has bigger capacity to open text files that has big file sizes..

I can open it all with notepad... Well, in Dutch, it's kladblok. But since that's translated the same...

the most useful invention in the world's story is the "copy/paste" and the "find" functions... just imagine moddin' without those...

bad thing about copy and paste is..it teaches you to be so un-original about your concept on your mod..

copy and pasting made some things easy..like creating new units and infantry and weaponry..

just to sum it up, if you new, play on tib ed for a while, it really helps, but if you making a mod stick to wordpad.
if you have a office version of windows EG 2000 or XP, then it will load in the crappy evil notepad. if however you have a home edition like 98SE or ME then it cann't load in notepad as it has a size limit and will automaticly load in wordpad if its too big for notepad.
wordpad is far better anyway.

when i was a TS moder, all i ever used was sunedit2K, thankfully i found tibed which includes modifying RA2 and YR aswell. so when i started YR editing much later on i used that to start me off. now i am probably the only expert in the countries and sides that still exists. unless deezire knows all about that stuff.

Who are you callin' a boy?

have you actually ever used Ini Editor 2 or XCC Ini Editor?

They are more like notepad than like Tibed.

( One side note: Ini Editor 2 does NOT work in some newer versions of Windows; it works fine in Win 98 and Win 98 SE )
