OK i have tried playing 6 different skirmishes on 6 different maps and every time i do i cant get past bulding a ore refinery as every building and unit i have gets blown to smitherines. Any idea what the heck is going on please help me... This just started in the last half hour or so and its really tickin me off....
There is no other way to fix this than to reinstall. It happens to Red Alert 2 and Generals, and has something to do with your units blowing up around 32 seconds into the game.
Certain aspects of the program code utilized by the security and copyright protection systems in Red Alert 2 can cause an inherent, occasional problem where all of your units spontaneously explode after several seconds of gameplay - the same effect you get when you abort play or surrender
Although not entirely desirable, the most common solution to this problem is as follows;-
- Uninstall Red Alert 2
- If necessary, defragment the hard drive on which Red Alert 2 is to be installed
- Reinstall Red Alert 2 and upgrade to the latest version with the game's Auto Update facility

additional stuff you want to try..after your reinstallation of RA2 and YR..try copying the Multi(md).mix files from their respective CD's.. 'coz the Multi(md).mix contains the multiplayer maps..this will reduce the seek time of the CPU to your CD-ROM drive..by default the setup in RA2 just copies 2 .mix files namely: ra2.mix and language.mix ..
the same goes with YR too..langmd.mix and ra2md.mix..just copy the multimd.mix from the YR CD to the default RA2YR directory..C:\Westwood\RA2..
sometimes..patching it or updating it..would be helpful..but sometimes it is the cause of the crashes..when the game is not patched up or updated properly..one of the common symptoms is KABOOM!! You've Lost..and you see your base have been reduced to debris..
The simple cause of this problem is the registry; if your RA2-registry-entries were modified by anything except Westwood-products, your game is fucked up.
Thanks Guys ill try to reinstall and see what happens. Thats like the only thing i didnt do.
