Deezire's tutorial is the most recognized in the RA2 and YR editing community..before a change in the layout of this website..there are many stuff has been debated about..they even attempted to crack open the games' exe file just to unlock something possible that could be implemented..like the Ion Cannon and other stuff that was junked..since RA2 and YR uses modified Tiberian Sun engine..and the the TLB file has been debated because there is a possibility that the TLB files holds a bright future for the modding community..i thought someone has released that modified TLB..Deezeez can be of help to us..and someone ages ago unlocked the games' exe file and was able to make brutal AI really brutal..but he never gave us further update..

many modders have been relying on Deezire's tutorial since it tackles at least, comprehensively the coding and related modding stuff in RA2 and YR..

if you have a new discovery about stuff that you'd never thought, existed!..why do you just make a documentary of it? at least in my part..having a survivor in an Aircraft is possible..

you could at least see Olaf's site 'coz there is a tutorial of using XCC Mixer..

my point is many modders have been reliant on some tutorials that have been done by the elite of the modding community..

I have an adapted version of this idea. What if the community, instead of the documentation, (or both) made an entire mod project? This way we could have everyone helping everyone, and everyone was welcome to help. I think the best way to learn something is to do it, and this mod could be awesome. We got SHP people, voxelers, map makers, good INI editors, people with microphones could be voice actors for new units! Who's with me?

the Pilot= logic you want is giving a different Image on the Survivor= tag, not any existing infantry..CTECH could be good but yes..he could gain three stripes but he can never transfer those stripes in any vehicle he takes over..

yes..many modders now just do stuff on their own..discover new stuff by themselves..and just download any model they want to be included in their mod.. sevenmoo, that idea was already brought up..look for the thread "People's Mod" here in this site...the idea failed because, many people are working on their own mods..MMK4C01, you'll need Deezeez aka CNC_Network aka Conundrum..he was able to crack some stuff according to his posts in Sleipnir's Stuff..

many of the C&C modding community has just moved one..shall we say..has taken new paths that changed their lives..Lao Tze, who has a mod in YR is now in London and just checks in once in a while at Sleipnir's Stuff..remaining that could be of help is..Blade..Mooman65..ArgCmdr..SeaMan..Turn A Gamer..Godwin..
and yes..lastly Deezire..if he is able to finish stuff on Pro:Gen, i hope he is around to help us out..the .TLB and the EXE files has the key to the future of Command and Conquer legacy..

- Pure ilusion. TLB has the prototype only. I've opened them with Delphi, Borland C++ and Visual C++. It's all the same shit in different languages, but it's only the prototype of classes, interfaces and some other stuff. Every library consists in 2 parts: prototypes (where the program consults what kind of functions, interfaces and classes that it holds) and the botton part is the implementation that contains all instructions followed by the functions. When you compile a program, all functions that it uses (including all operational system functions, functions from libraries and all these functions goes to the exe file, because the cpu must know the address of all commands and functions used. That's why when you make a "Hello World!" program in Delphi, the compiler creates a file with several kbs... due to all windows functions it includes.

If you change the prototype, the function that was linked to it will no longer be found, which means you would loose a function. So, editing .TLB file would only be useless...

Deezire, in the end of his research, admitted that he would need to modify the executable file to be able to modify the library which is correct, however, he also confirmed that it would be impossible to do it, because he would need the original source code (which is also correct) since these programs like Delphi, Borland C++, Visual C++ (used by Deezire) and refuse to compile it back because there are several variables types and stuff that are declared in the source...

So, I really feel sorry for you, Mmk, but modifying the TLB is not a way to improve the game.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In conclusion, .TLB can be used to study the detailed way the game works, but can't be changed.
