Need Urgent Help
I've had a little problem with a mod I'm working on.
As of the moment, I've checked the units and structure codes as well as re-checking the ai, [general] and [Sides] part of the rulesmd.ini (Yr). When I go to try out my mod, I try out playing different factions and all goes well. Then suddenly, i will try cuba vs germany, it will internal error right at the start. Before you can deploy mcv even. I restart yr, and it will work just fine. Sometimes, it will not work for 3 or 4 times in a row. This also happens when I play France vs Yuri (skirmish). Sometimes it will work, sometimes it will not.
I really have no clue what could possible cause these problems, but it seems to be random and not always occuring.
Here's a part of the error code read from the "except.txt":
Error code: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION Description: The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.
Access address:FFFFFFFF was read from.
Exception occurred at 00505E41
Thanks for any help,
Forsy

I'd just renew rulesmd.ini and artmd.ini .
This is really weird...

It's not a rules thing. It's an EXE thing it looks like....

I dont think its an exe thing... There could be a chance it could be a ram thing. I used to get that alot when i was editing a map, test it out on skirmish, edit it again, re-test it, eventually after about 4-5 times of doing that fa2 would crash with that error.
Or maybe his ra2yr likes to develop random features!

Yeah, it's evolution...his FA2:YR and his RA2:YR are breeding an all new program...RA3, perhaps...

NO!! it says, that some code was incorrectly inputed, a missing entry in the [General] section, the hardcoded stuff, and missing entries from any unit, infantry, weapon or AI control code in the INI files.. i've experienced it many times and i know it..
now, my mod is now 1000% bug free but i need more stuff to make the sides more reasonably balanced..
it cannot be in the EXE file, strictly there is something missing or misdeclared in your Rules(md).ini file..since the game's settings is OVERIDDEN IF THE ALTERED RULES(MD).ini file EXISTS IN THE GAME DIRECTORY..the same thing goes if you have declared some stuff in the INIs and that stuff is not present in your mod's files..
it cannot be in RAM or your PC's memory, the game engine will right away tell you during the loading process that it cannot further continue 'coz it lacks the resources to run the game..
Sydro, i recommend to try the first option which is to back up your mod files and REINSTALL RA2 and YR..and install your MOD and run the game..
the second option is to RECODE your MOD..and try it again
then go back here if anything still persists..
