The original one can only be lengthened by remodeleling the whole structure in a program like 3DS Max. This was the approach spiderman-2099 took when he was doing the gap generator.

108 frames is a little much. Going at an average 15 fps, it would take 7 something seconds to buildup. In the heat of a battle, you'd want the building's animation to be fairly short so you can get it out quickly.
I'm going to try downsizing, removing a few of the lifting frames. Downsizing is so hard! :cry:

lol, not really artwork. More like skill with cut and paste
I didn't know that using the active animation in the buildup as the head portion was lifting would have such a cool effect.
