DO you mean animation for the voxels with hva or just a normal hva. If you mean normal then every vxl needs one no matter what.

he means animating SHP
i have tested this extensivly in TS for Tiberian Sun Retro and it does not work.

animating HVA's do not work on flying units (unlike RA2 where this is not the case). The original concept for instance was that the "Harpy" was actually meant to be the "Apache II" and had rotors, but as this is impossible in TS and WW didnt bother (like many other things) to make it possible, something had to be changed with the apache, and it was to scrap the rotors and change the name.

The other method i tried was to test weather or not the RA1/TD shp rotor logic worked and making an SHP Apache (which would look fine)
I thought there was a good chance for this to work as i checked the .exe beforehand and ther it was RROTOR.SHP and LROTOR.SHP mentioned in the TS Game.exe. (these are the graphics from the rotors in TD/RA1 and a specific logic goes hand in hand with them) so i tried giving the tag Rotors=yes in the art.ini to the harpy, nothing appeared.

I then tried and SHP harpy, this does not work it seems the whole SHP flying units thing in TS has been disabled/broken or simply not converted from RA1 (probably something to do with locomotors). This makes sense now (looking back on it) cause units like the Wolverine have specific art entries like
WalkFrames=
etc
and the Mech loco allows this to work
I (actually Chantillas) then tested for me numerous other things like different locomotors for the SHP image and they worked to an extent

The final Result is, Rotors to work as rotors (and not stay stationary) is impossible in TS. This may have been the wrong thread to post this but its a common question and i just wanna clear it up for good

All you need to edit the EXE is a plan and a hex dissassebler. I could do it if anyone had something specific in mind. Although, I'm not entirely sure if it iss legal to change the exe and post the changes for others to download (ex: thats how you do the no cd cracks and stuff)

Well there is talk of trying to get the source files off of WW to develop the game further now it is basically dead as far as WW/EA are concerned...
Dont see it happeneing myself but it would be good as it would mean that the game engine would live on a hell of a lot longer!
