Hmm..I will consider buying programs if that is the case...I am only expirenced with INI editing. Again, the main reason I want a program that can translate all that hardcoded gibberish to English, is so I know what every single tag is for (including hidden ones) plus any left in code from obselete features. I think the zooming feature is in the .exe, but I will not tamper with those files for now. Here is what I think is the code for the zooming feature---(Gibberish,gibberish-ZoomTarget-Gibberish,Gibberish) Ofcourse I have no idea what all the symbols are, so..Please dont mock my futile attempts to redeem TS. :|

P.S I have the Alpha Browser BTW.

Yeah...and when my Wordpad finally is done loading the EXE, I'll add some new SuperWeapons, a Chrono Prison, and of the all-time-classics
'VeteranTanyaGetsNaked=' (true or false) and
'SpecificInternalErrors=' (yes or no)...

ROFL, AlphaDMF

Dude...if all you had to do was view these things to know all about the tags and stuff, it would have been done before!
You're not the first one fucking around with these files...

Oh, and btw: Of course there's a Zoom-Feature in there, it's used in maps...

Dude If you Want to Edit EXE/TLB/etc... Try "Res Hacker" you can Edit the Resources of the exe! resources only not the Hard coded Stuff

Resource Hacker is too much limited. It allow us to edit things like the copyright of the file and few other stuff, but the thing we want that is to enable codes for ini, ahhh... you can mess up with that with Res Hacker...

Well, Res Hack was needed to change the game cursor for main menu in TS. I also got the Beta TS cursor from there

Just want to correct a few things :lol:

Yes, TLB files are used by the compiler.
But after compiling, they aren't needed any more.
WW used Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, which lets the TLB survive after compiling.
WW seemed to have copied it accidently.
I wouldn't know any other explanation for it though.

WordPad to edit exes lol... kindof...
I'm using a simple hex editor
ResHack is stupid, you cannot make it find the entry points for control events (like button being clicked)

A *.dat file is mostly not the same file type as another *.dat file, cause its a universal abreviation for data files, and therefor has different strutures. the structure of the *.dat file has to be directed by the viewer program itself, so you wont find a universal "dat-viewer" but maybe a C+C specific one. I havent ever heard of one though and refuse to believe there is one. If Im wrong and the data in those files are of any importance of modding stuff, please let me know!! :P
