Yeah, it's attached to the Battle Fortress (Obviously). I tried making a repair vehicle with two passengers that was open topped so it could protect itslef, but it fired on friendly units when it tried to repair them. So I scrapped it.

I'm not commenting on the listed contents of your mod, instead I'm replying to the basic idea of your post subject.

If by 'going mainstream' you mean 'becoming part of the so-called RA2 community', then my answer is: Don't. By and large, this is not a community you really should want to be a part of. Just do your own thing, be an individual, and make friendships and relationships on a case-by-case basis. There are a lot of people who are quick to say 'community' when the fact is they are anything but community-minded. Those are the people you are better off not knowing.

Just some advice.

The title of the topic was badly phrased, I agree. I meant I actually want to release something to the public for once. Thanks for the warning though!

Everything sounds a little overpowered, but at least there's been some thinking behind it. Try not to lose the RA2 environment.

I'd definetly recommend buying YR. It adds a lot and RA2-only people are hated here  .

And let me take over Kravvitz job for once: Welcome to the DeeZire.net RA2 editing community .

For someone that doesn't really know ini editing so well, you have some pretty creative ideas, that are all pretty possible. Its almost good to not know the ini guides before make units, because you can think outside the box of the game engine, then try to impliment it as much as possible.

Anyways, again, welcome...I myself am kinda knew, and really.....I think this IS a nice community, I don't know why exactly its been called something you don't wanna be a part of :S......There are so many generous and willing people, and a lot of great graphics still that haven't been used in a well thought out original mod. Besides, this game is pretty out dated now, and I think most of the people that play mods, are the people within the mod community somehow. I think there is a lot of appreciation for other peoples work, just take a look at AR2 from a modding stand point, its amazing.

Well, i'm done ranting, good luck on your mod.....If you give up on that, you can always help me with my Fantasy mod, total conversion haha...Shameless plug, sorry

If you think the RA2 community is bad, you're wrong. Generals is way worse, with all the shameless n00bs and egoistic bastards (but there are some nice guys).

I do agree, we have some n00bs here too, but they don't post much.

Hey, I actually found some of these ideas good and original. Maybe you(sinistershadow) want to work together on this mod? I know how to code all of those units you want. I can also help you to add new superwaepons and reallly cool units. I've been working on different mods but i'd like to work with someone so i'll actually get something done and finish it. I can also help get some gfx- shp's and voxels.

Tell me if you want me to work with you and we'll discuss what we'll do.

P.S. the prism grenadiers seemed like a cool unit to me... you should keep it in there

You're only 3 days older than me!

I've been following the modding community for RA2 since before DeeZire had the sight revamped!

Also read the NOTES in my first post

Thanks for the late welcome though! I should be getting YR soon...how soon though, is something I don't know...

The coding's going well but having a little annoyance finding out about the weather storm and how it creates it's clouds and lightning because i can't seem to find the weapon it uses to spawn them. Needs more research I think!

The images etc. I could definitely use though so I'll PM you about that and we can discuss what would suit each of my ideas best!

what weapon?

Super weapons don't use normal weapons ...except for the EMP Cannon in TS.
