Infraid, did you ever see WW putting spaces in their names? I did (search for "Area Guard" and see). Why should it be a problem for us if it wasn't a prob for WW?

I need 2 do a lot of work on the AI and new CRA units and buildings
and about the style: w8 and see. buildings dont have a style like the soviet concrete buildings but thats meant to be (easier 4 me )
They are meant to look like a bunch of crap, coz thats the civil style: making buildings out of all possible but cheap resources. the civils arent that rich.

i can't confirm or deny that, but if there is its going to be a big limit, because i have made several different buildings that have had huge names. 18 characters i think is the biggest right at the moment, and it works fine.

oh.. were you talking about the uniname or just name? the 18's the biggest uniname, but westwood itself has a bigger name entry, look for the civillian building CAPARS11. its name has 25 character (including spaces).... RA2 Paris Arc de Triumphe. so in my opinion i would have to say there is not a limit on the name field.

EDIT:

Now looking over the rules file, i guess there are bigger names than that, but it was just a good quick example.

He meant the INI names like [SA] or [GADEPT].

And yes there is a limit to how long the INI identifiers (names) can be, but I don't know what the maximum character length is.

To be clear, we are not discussinmg name or uiname.

i think they support quite much, in my .inis, there are still tags of the [Super Gap Generator] (i did this when i was using TibEd so gimme a break!) and it works quite fine.

hey, I liked using tibed. It might be a less appreciated way of moding, but it is a great place for all noobs to start because it gets the job done quick and easy . besides, when your working with cameos it saves the time of having to run the game to see if the cameo will work/ looks good. (i only use it when im working with cameos now.)

Can't you use XCC Mixer for the cameo thing?

But a sole cameo can look nice, while it's ugly when seen next to all others. I just start the game. Oh wait, I don't mod anymore, lol.
