you can use xcc, but like said a lone cameo may look good until its by all the others. plus i have a problem with saving my cameos as one name and then trying to refer to them as another (spelling errors, reversing letters), and that is were tibed can save you the time of loading the game, building up to the unit, finding the missing cameo cameo, exiting the game, trying to find the error, fixing it, restarting the game, ect.
its just faster sometimes.

I couldn't use TibEd and Notepad together to do my modding; the changes I did in Notepad had no effect on that in TibEd. That's why I stopped using it. It is nice to see the cameo though, before you start up the game. You can get a gneral idea of what it will look like in-game.

its real easy as long as you only use the tibed program for cameo type uses. what ya do is make sure your rules file is saved in the ra2 directory (or whichever game your editing) as rules.ini (seems if you use multiple rules files it don't work that well) then run tibed and say import changes from game and it will pick up the changes, atleast I never had a problem with it picking up my changes.

its harder to be creative on TibEd (probably get CJ now saying im not creative )
