I'm a Brabander in heart and soul but I still hate parties and carnaval especially. Does that make me un-Brabants? No, I'm just a Brabander that hates parties

Just so you Americans don't get confused:
Carnaval (or Vastenavond in some places apparently) is a national holiday which is celebrated mostly in the southern parts of the Netherlands (where CJ, Daeda and me are all from), Belgium, and (I think) parts of Germany too. It's usually around February, and the idea is that you just have parties and dress up funny for 4 days... The name I think comes from latin "carne vale" or something which means "goodbye to meat", because that when the traditional fasting used to begin.

It has very little to do with "a carnaval" (or is it spelled "carnIval"?), where you go and do fun shooting for toy bunnies, and go on bumper cars and stuff. That is called "kermis" here.
