Default Ion cannon

Okay, in red 2, Not YR, i have the ion cannon in the game. It charges, with working icon & everything, but when I go to fire it nothing happens. It just resets the timer and just recharges, for nothing.

What is the trick? I now you can re-edit the nuke missile & lightning strom, but I don't want to mess them up. I have read all your forums, and the tutorials that I could download, and I still can't figure it? can someone please straight up help.

You cant enable an Ion Cannon without substituting another superweapon, neither in RA2 or YR.

Damn, that sucks. Can you give me advice on this then. So far I have put the ioncannonspecial SW string on the psychic beacon. I gave it a lightning storm icon. The cannon charges & fires on its own fine. The only thing that goes wrong is after the firing. Nothing happens. I think I need to make an animation trigger here and give the animation the ability to cause damage.? What is your input on the subject?

If the action is code is disconnected theres nothing you can do. All that can be done is modify another superweapon enough so it looks like an Ion Cannon.

That just blows, guess it just wasn't meant to be, but thanks anyway. Maybe I rig the iron curtain to be the ion cannon.

Many more people much more experienced than you have been trying to get this thing working before you ever touched an INI file. Deezire managed to get it to triggerfire on a map, but he's a modding Messiah, so he's got an excuse.

That's a half truth. You can do it without replacing any supers, but you won't be able to target anything with it. I'm going to replicate the Ion Cannon and keep all supers intact. Hehehehe.

That'll just be a mere substitute. Not the real thing. That also means you wouldn't be able to target a target directly.

I can tell you haw to make a Ion Cannon non SW. Or I can make a build option that creates a imaginary building that gives you a ion cannon explosion.

I know how to make a fake superweapon, but I'll say it again, a mere substitute is not good enough. Fake superweapons should never be made.
