Sometimes you can send it back and get a new one. Then again, this is EA we're talking about here. Hmmm.... It's not copyringt violation if you've already paid for the game, so why don't you warez it?
You seem to know a lot about illegal stuff :squint: .
I would say I know enough. Besides, it's not illegal if you already bought the game. You are allowed to keep a backup of any software product under copyright law.
I'm pretty sure the late Westwood doesn't want anyone to make back-up. It was in one of their help pages that said to mail them for a new CD. But you get the same effect anyway.

It doesn't matter if they want you to or not. You have a right, under copyright law, to make a backup copy of any software you have. When Congress gives you the right to do something, it doesn't matter whether or nor a company doesn't want you to have it.
The U.S. Congress can't do much for Daedlus, he lives in the Netherlands. But you were right and I was wrong. I was just speaking for a dead company no longer with us...
Anyway, you can make a back-up like Needleman said, it's legal until you decide to 'share' (for a reasonable price ) your back-up with others.
