You're just all too negative about Gen. You're glorifying the older C&C's but every single one since RA1 dissapointed people.

First of all, every game disappoints some people...secondly, I liked all C&Cs until Generals, which I do not consider a "real" C&C.

And in the end, I think the problem especially with TS was the marketing. They faked these great screenshots and hyped the game up so much (remember the whole "T-Day" thing) that it just had to fail...kinda like the Black & White disaster...

During the production of Black & White (Lionhead Studios), the game was hyped in a way no one could imagine. In the end, people expected something like "the uber-game", the one game to 0wn them all. Yet it wasn't. It is a great game, that's for sure, but not the ultimate game. This lead to strong disappointment in the gaming community and made the game being selled much less than expected.

I found TS rather sucky - it's too gloomy and futuristic IMO. RA2 was cool. Gen is a failed try to Command & Conquerize the real world.

And Black and White sucked. I dislike it, since it has little or no balance.

black and white did not suck... it jsut didnt live up to expectations. Unfortunately, its happening to black and white two as well, and so the team creating it are working flat out. Black and white was just what it was supposed to be, a god sim.....
The only real dissapointment in the C&C series i think is C&C tiberian sun: Firestorm..... What was the point?!?!

Opinions differ... I hate FS too, it has no cool unit at all... But B&W sucked .
