Recently I have started to add new units into YR but I have ran into a problem when playing skirmish games; the computer, regardless of which country or side it is on, can make the unit. This wouldn’t be too much of a problem except that the computer excessively creates them until a mass of these units cover the entire base and refuses to make any other unit. The computer never uses them and just collects them for no tactical reason. I have checked the RulesMD.ini multiple times to make sure that this wasn’t occurring because I accidentally gave all sides the ability to build it from the perquisite or owner. So I am theorizing that the game is doing this because the new units are not placed into the AIMD or a problem with the ecache (I am adding vxls, shps into another MOD's ecache) but before I get myself into a another problem, I am just wondering if anyone knows a solution or can explain why this happens. I would be grateful. Thank you.
It's called [VehicleTypes] overflow. Reorder it, so you have all usable units first, then the civilian and TechLevel=-1 units. And the maximum of usable units is believed to be 101... PPM researched this, with some, but not perfect, results. Check here for more info.
I had this in Tiberian Sun once. The AI just kept spamming light infantry. Didn't know what caused this, so I was a bit stuck at the time. So the InfantryTypes list can overflow as well?
There's only three possibilities:
- The AI builds one Radar and spams all 4 pads with the same Aircraft
- The AI starts producing Aircraft and Radars until there's no more room
- The AI just says "Fuck the limit" and builds about 100 Aircraft on one airport...
