Default Sky darkening effect for Lightning Storm

Okay, I'm almost done converting the Lighting Storm to an Ion Cannon. I've got everything perfect (it doesn't even require a beacon like Psycho's version) except for the sky-darkening effect. I can't seem to get rid of it and it tends to bug up the screen since the modified code only calls the darken effect for a few frames. Is there any wat to remove the screen shading entirely?

One way is to edit the map; in FA2YR, there is a menu where you edit the normal light and the light when the storm is active.
I'll take a look to see if there is something in rulesmd to do the same, but i'm not sure I can find something...

I'm failrly sure that the only way to do that is by editing the maps, like BaRaKa_ said.

Okay, but is there any way to keep the darken effect off of random maps?

I do not know of any method to change things like that in random maps.

AFAIK, those kind of settings are in the code of the types themselves.
