Not really. However, you could make your unit cloak by making it transform into a totally different unit instead.

INFANTRY1A (noncloak) DeploysInto INFANTRY1B (cloak)
INFANTRY1B DeploysInto INFANTRY1A
Will that work?
If so that has solved the biggest problem in my mod, a problem I've been working on for weeks.

IIRC, infantry can't deploy into other infantry.

Well there is that weird case where a gi deploys into a copy of itself, and the copy undeplos into the gi. The effect is that the 2 unique infantry types are both selected by 'select all of type' when only one unit was selected before the button is pressed. This would imply that there is at least some use of the deploysinto function with infantry.
This needs investigating...

[EDIT]In reply to Kravvitz:[/EDIT]
I second that. Only the mutator-thing could do something similar, but that wouldn't work here...
[EDIT]@Martyr: :wtf: Never heard of that...[/EDIT]

It works like this:
[E1]
DeploysInto=E1B
[E1B]
UndeplysInto=E1
AllyParaInf=E1B
AmerParaInf=(no longer used by AMRADR, freed up for other usage)
[AMRADR]
SuperWeapon=ParadropSpecial ;was AmericanParadropSpecial
[America]
VeteranInf=E1B
Result: America get veteran paratrooper GIs only, but both types of GI are selected by 'select all of type'.

Actually, all that DeploysInto= does on infantry is fool the engine into thinking E18 and E1 are the same, allowing for combined seleting. It doesn't mean they actually deploy into each other. I got this info from C-GEN forums

Hmmmm, maybe you can make a shp vehicle look like an infantry, make it deploy to a building with an invisible image that spawns nother infantry with a stealth image....:/

When the unit is deployed do you want it to remain stationary?
If so, you can make the infantry's deployed frames blank.
However, the owner cannot see the infatry either and it is not a logic invisibility (auto-acquire/retaliate can still see it, as can the AI)
