Default Getting the Chem Warrior to work...

i read the deezire tutorial on how to get the chem warrior... i made sure all info that needed to be put in the rules & artr.ini were the same as in the tutorial... but when run, and i try to build a chem unit, he just leaves the hand and an error pops up... also there is an entry in the tutorial about putting the WEED.SHP into "ecache*.mix". upon searching i cant find it and the closest would be cache.mix. i even changed the weed2sequence to E1sequence to try and get it to work. but it crashed every time... BTW- i'm not using any ini editor other than notepad

Wow...TibSun-editing-questions...^_^

Several possibilities:
1) Don't use spaces in object-names. Not good. Dunno if it produces crashes, but it's certainly not good.
2) It might be the missing graphic. I seriously doubt it, since I only know this from aircraft yet, but since this is for TS, it might cause it. Although I doubt it.
3) Locomotor & MovementZone. Didn't check which Loco that is, perhaps something is wrong.

...and you have to create the ecache yourself, duh!

this is my first addition
btw and i havn't had the chance to ask... if people wrote modding tutorials like modeling tutorials this wouldn't be an issue...

BTW... tried making a ecache.mix and it didn't work... it not like anyone ever told me where to put it or where to get it...

Does the weapon ChemSprayer even exist and is it spelled exactly like what is assigned to the unit? Also, you need to make your own mix file to get an ecache*.mix file (where the * is any text string). You also need to make a corrected sequence for this unit as it doesn't have a good one by default.

not sure... is there a weapon section where you add one??? the tutorial didn't say anything about it... remember this is my first C&C mod.

wel that was fun... fixed it... it was the weapon...so i gave him a valad weapon... only problem is that the game doesnt have a chem spray stream like the flame tank... so i instead renamed the unit a Flame thrower infantry and became sad... that sucks that WWS would include everything but the weapon itself... i wanted a Chem Warrior... but i know what the problem is and thank all of you who suggested the weapon as the problem

Wait a minute now...This is good stuff. Cause in my quest for a mod unit I want a chem tank...(flame tank with green fire works) but if I don't have the weapons for it can they be made I'm new so I would guess change the color of the flame graphic and rename it. then make a new weapon entry that uses the new flame warhead that uses the new chem graphic. that sounds like it could do the trick. but then again I'm a noob so I can never be sure. Assuming any of this works...who can change the color to green. If this gets hammered out I want to know. I will follow up on this
