Can a barracks , conyard, WF, ect have a weapon and still function?

Mmm... never tested, but why not ?

I'd try it, but I think it'll take less time if you do it by yourself : try adding a FactoryType to a defense structure and see if it works...

Of course, they can. Give them any weapon you want (as to any defense buildings).

A sercive depot can use one (look at out post) And i never heard it couldnt. So i guess yeah. But you'd better just test it

War Factory can use a weapon (some time ago I tweaked the tech outpost to be a Factory=VehicleType to get veteran tanks easily :P )

I dunno. Could you make a one cell ranged weapon for a multiple celled building. I would like to make a repair crane for my warfactory, but offset could be a problem, as i wan it in the corner
