Think Helicopter that has flapping wings (like a bird) instead of rotors.
In the original Frank Herbert epic (forget the movie, read the books), they were simply transports. It wasn't until WW got ahold of the licsense that 'thopters were given weaponry..
I thought WW had the rights of the film. Emperor says something about a Dino de laurentiis or sumtin'.
But then NOTHING is right about the Dune games. They really mess up the whole story and I just wanna strangle the guys who wrote it. If you'd just walk on the sand in the books, you'd be eaten, spice is worth a lot more, and who thought of the Ordos?!?
The books were good, Brian Herbert's too (although a little less spiritual), but the WW games!
okay. so, maybe dune armies are low tech in aricraft, only prob is the transport thingy. i never seen a aircraft carry multiple vehicles in a single trip and deploys them like a amphibious transport.
Well Ornies are basically helicoptors except take less fuel and have no engines(I hate Scif fi for that). In the Dune World, there are just no vehicles(minus harvesters) because they tend to be worm bait, only infantry.
