No the spotlight is among a list of codes that seem to have problems with them and no one has been able to make it work. Except maybe RVMECH who deleted the map after he got it to work. And never remember how he did it. But we are still looking.

I'm still saying it'd be simple if we just found the alpha-image used for the spot, and turned it into an SHP, and used it as an active-anim for the spot-tower...but think of the poor guy who has to build his tower basing on the spolight... :scared:

The spotlight would be a great little feature for both single player and multiplayer missions to trigger some events and look nice on night maps. The way the game bogs out when you build a structure allocated a spotlight reminds me of how it does the same thing when a trigger (like meteors) goes IE on you when you don't have the correct animations.

Edit:
It might help if someone who knew how to use a debugger ran through the game code and looked to see why it breaks when it tries to use the code associated with the spotlight function.

I dont know but the controls for the spotlight are still in rulesmd.ini. They are:

SpotlightSpeed=.015 ; speed in radians
SpotlightMovementRadius=2000 ; offset of center of arc sweep
SpotlightLocationRadius=1000 ; offset from building
SpotlightAcceleration=.0025 ; acceleration in radians
SpotlightAngle=.5 ; maximum suggest angle of arc sweep

Would adding these to the code for the spotlight work maybe?

Don't take this too hard slopes, but you really shouldn't bothr pointing stuff out that is already in rulesmd.ini or anything else that is easily accessible. There are a good few of us here have read through the entire set of .ini files on numerous occasions. Put another way...if its in DeeZires .ini guide assume we know about it and have probably tested it.

@slopes: Seriously. If it was that easy, do you think we'd spend days discussing it? (And, considering this isn't the first discussion about it, even months and years?)

It's nice that you want to help but...you know...*scratches head*

Spotlights... are they thoses colors on the ground, similar to radioactive warhead ? :scared:

If so (and I'm confident), I'm pretty sure having seen it in a mod, a while ago. Although I'm not sure of the mod's name, I think it was Whiteboy's one... :/

I know I shouldn't post those sort of things I'm not completely sure of, but since I can't test it myself ATM, I was hoping someone else would...
