Attention: Cannis!
Hey Cannis, I sent you an email a few days ago about your/Deezire's Assault game mode. Well, for some reason the email got rejected (something to do with "the server does not like the receipent"...) so I decided to post it here, since you post here often. Here it is:
Quote:
Hi Cannis, my name is David White (Whiteboy). You may
have seen me before on the Deezire.net boards.
I saw your assault map packs and thought the list of
mods that support them was too small, so I decided to
add mine to the list. My mod supports both map packs
at the moment (#1 and #2), but it is still under
development and will not be released for around 2
months yet. The mod is called Whiteboy's Rules V1.5.
There exists another version, version 1.0, but this
version is a year old and does not support the Assault
game mode at all.
My mod's site is http://www.angelfire.com/ultra/whiteboysrules. Its
name is "Whiteboy's Rules Headquarters". The site is
still under development but is very viewable, and I do
not really want people to know about it until I release
version 1.5 of my mod, so that is why there have been
only ~500 visitors. There will be many more once I
"advertise" the site.
If you want to sample this mod, just ask me and I'll
send you a beta version of version 1.5, which already
supports both map packs (although the critical
structure's image is only a temporary one at the
moment).
I hope to see Whiteboy's Rules V1.5 on the list soon,
and keep up your good work!
- Whiteboy

DOWNLOAD TOTAL DESTRUCTION BETA 4.0
W W W . D E S T R U C T I O N M O D . C O M
Sorry, I thought this was the blatant advertising thread.
Seriously though, if the implemention is easy enough, I might put the packs in as well (that is, if I'm bored enough to actually do it).
@Whitey: Sorry for hijacking your thread

Yet again, I have absolutely no idea what you're on about Ren
The Assault mappacks are very easy to implement. Took me about 30 mins or so, counting the break I took
Just follow the instructions in the readme of the modder's download, on the assault mode site. Cannis will know the URL, I'm too lazy to find it...

You only need to edit pkt files if your mod includes extra maps. Otherwise, simply having the assault.pkt file in your RA2 directory will work (as well as the assault maps mix files).
To Infraid, the purpose of this topic is for you not to read it look at the subject. It says "Attention: Cannis!". So I would not expect anyone to understand except Cannis. But since you and Ren are interested, what this is all about is Cannis and Deezire's excellent Assault game mode. I wanted my mod to support it, and it says in a certain readme file that you must contact Cannis to have your mod put on the site that lists the mods that support the game mode. That way, the site gets better, my mod gets better, and everyone's happy. The readme file states that you must include your mod's name and URL, as well as what mappacks are supported.
Now, I had sent the email to Cannis, but it didn't go through for some reason. So I posted the message here, in the knowledge that Cannis would see it.
And that's all I have to say about that
Thanks for posting the link BTW Infraid. Now I just have to wait for Cannis to reply to this thread...

Whiteboy, you would most likely attract Cannis' attention faster if you posted on his C-GEN forums.
