Default problems with the train sets

Ok, Im having trouble with DJBREIT's locomotive train set. I've added the rulesmd.ini and artmd.ini entries in the correct places but Im having trouble with the voxels and hvas. Where exactly should I put them? I've tried several places but none of them seem to register with the computer. Can you even use them in Final Alert?

You can use them with FA2.

What version of FA2 do you have?

What places have you tried putting the voxels?

Is this for RA2/YR?

Did leaving the voxels and HVAs loose in the game directory not work?

I have version 1.02 of FA2. I tried putting them into the expandmd.mix files. I think I tried adding them to expand.bak, ecache.bak(I know I should'nt have done it there now) and I think some other places. I also just tried letting them loose in the RA2 directory. Oh, and yes its for the Yuri's Revenge Terrain Expansion.

They will work from expandmd##.mix files, but there is a strange bug between some versions of the vxl programs and FA2 such that they don't display in FA2. You can however still select them (albeit with difficulty) and manipulate them.

Lets go throw the check list
frist copy of Artmd.ini

add this to Artmd.ini

[MONCARG1] ;Elec Cargo Car
Voxel=yes
Remapable = yes

[MONOCAR1] ;Elec Passenger Car
Voxel=yes
Remapable = yes

[MONOENG1] ;Elec Engine
Voxel=yes
Remapable = yes

[MONOEND] ;Elec End Car
Voxel=yes
Remapable = yes

next rulesmd.ini
copy of rulesmd.ini

Then add this to rulesmd.ini

find [VehicleTypes] and add

230=MONCARG1
231=MONOCAR1
232=MONOENG1
233=MONOEND

now add these groups

[MONCARG1]
blab...blab...blab

[MONOCAR1]
blab...blab...blab

[MONOEND]
blab...blab...blab

[MONOENG1]
blab...blab...blab

save

Now put a copy of the Artmd.ini, rulesmd.ini vxl and hva in a expandmd##.mix files

Then but a copy of the Artmd.ini, rulesmd.ini in the RA2 dir so FA2 will read them. This should work.

FA2 dose not read Artmd.ini, rulesmd.ini in the expandmd##.mix files only the game will.

Thanks a lot. A note on that it was the freight train but I just changed the names around and got it working. Just one problem. When I tested these on a map just now, they are listed as MISSING Name: 'Something' when you scroll over the units. Is this fixable?

Ok thanks. One last question, do I need to put the track.ini file into the expandmd##.mix file also so that the train interacts correctly with the tracks?
