Heheh, sorry, I love talking in riddles. Anyhoo, here's the posers:

1. Is it possible to make another unit (not the Robot Tank) depend on the Robot Control Center? I tried this, copying the Robot Tanks' tags and adding my unit to the tag that the Robot Control Center has (ROBO is already in this list). But I am not sure this tag is an actual "list".

Well, I tried it, and it works fine until you try to restore power to the RCC. The vehicle is disabled, and just when I either restore power of build a RCC after destroying it, the Robot Tanks go back online but my vehicle doesn't

So, is it hardcoded that only the Robot Control Tank can work properly with the Robot COntrol Center?


2. Where in the game mix files is the SHP that is the image of two stripes, displayed on a selected elite unit? I want to replace this image with a popular one - the star image. Where can I find this image?


BTW - thanks to the people that have replied to my past topics when I needed modding help - Renegade, Argcmdr, Infraid, Kravvitz, Cannis and the rest... the only thing I can offer in return is to put you in the credits section of my mod's manual. Well, I COULD also donate credits from my account here, but I don't have enough as I am saving to buy the "right" to display a signature... not that I really have one to display at the moment. But anyway, thanks

1. DCoder (was it ?) already mentioned it. PowersUnit=Tag doesn't expect a list of object. Only one.

It has also been said that this feature is not fully supported for SHP based vehicles (either sparks or shadow effect.. I can't remember).

1. That was actually martyr, not me. But I can confirm it - the executable expects a string, not a list of strings for that tag. You can, however, make it dependent on another structure.
2. Either pips.shp or pips2.shp (btw, it would be nice if somebody documented what each frame of those two files is used for. I mean half of the frames is similar/identical).

OK, thanks guys. I think I'll scrap the idea of another structure dependant unit - if I make another structure like the RCC, it will look like I just ripped it off. It's not worth the trouble I think.

Now I just need question 2's answer

Sidenote: I never got the second control center to work. I eventually gave up. I guess that's the same curse that causes my machine to freeze while Whiteboy only loses text...¬_¬

There there Ren, it could be worse.

Does that pips.shp file include the star image which I have to re-order in order to display it, or must I replace the "two lines" image with the star image? And if so, where can I download that star image, and who should I give credit for it?

And what SHP editor do you recommend I use. I am using the BS SHP editor at the moment, but it's not the best I think.

Look around for the star or paint your own.

Edit pips.shp in OS SHP Editor (the OS used to be BS) or use XCC Mixer to convert the SHP to another format for editing in another paint program.

There is no "two lines" or "two stripes", there are 3 and they are called chevrons. Just edit the frame that you want.

The stars are either in TibSun, or you can rip an already modified version from Total Destruction Beta 4.0
