Default Multiplayer Modding-sharing/giving

Is there any way to make it so I can give my money/units/vehicles/buildings to allies?

It would be really useful to be able to do that since some of my friends need help in RA2/YR occasionally.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I did look through DeeZire's INI editing guide (mpmodes.doc and rules2.doc) but it did not help.

I hope it's not hardcoded...

If so, it's impossible. (still, you can force-fire a yuri to mind-control a friendly unit)

And is it possible to make so that harvester could unload to the allied refinery? or units could be repaired at allied Service Depots?

Strangely, it seems a miner, chrono or war, can unload in any friendly refinery... However, I don't who'll get the credit : the one who unloads, or the one who owns the refinery ?

You cannot send vehicles to a friendly Service Depot, nor Grinder (which, is not yours, but still friendly).

I have an idea about helping allies. To transfer money to your ally, you could make a vehicle, let's give it a hover locomotor and call it an "aid chopper" for now. You would build this unit for a certain price (it must be relatively expensive, to prevent from gaining money by "cheating") and it would build either very fast or not (you devide). You can also decide whether it would fly fast or slow, how heavy it's armour is, etc. depending on the nature of the money transfer.

The main part of the chopper: it deploys into a mind-controlable structure that is set to cost a certain amount (say, 4000). You would never have to actually build this structure. Yiu can make this structure unable to undeploy back into the chopper or not. Now, you can sell this structure and you would recieve 50% (is it 50?) of the structure's Cost= tag. Your ally could mind-control or capture (is this possible?) the building and see it to recieve money (and so could your enemies...).

To make this money transfer as tight as possible, you could make the cost of the aid chopper the same as what one would receive from selling the structure it deploys into. Othertwise, you could make yourself lose money or gain money

The only problem of course, is that this method still requires your ally to have a phychic unit around. But I have anothr idea. You could make this structure very vulnerable to attack, and give it the tag CrateBeneath=true and CrateBeneathIsMoney=true (the actual names could be different, I'm using the ol' memory here). That means that your ally (or you or an enemy) could force-fire (destroy) the structure and get a money crate from it. There is a tag somewhere that allows you to adjust the money you actually get. Someone else can tell you that one

How do you like this idea? I think I'll actually put it in my mod right now (for all countries) - it's a good one I think. An Aid Chopper that deploys into an Aid Package - hey, if anyone else is going to put this into their mod, give me credit, okay?

Additional info: you might want to give it (the structure) the tag Insignificant=yes, so that you won't hear the "unit lost" sound when it gets blown apart. At least I think that's the right tag for this...

Also it doesn't have to be a chopper, it can be a normal vehicle or a hovercraft type of vehicle. You can give it the tag Immune=yes if you like to make the chopper totally invincible (but obviously not the aid package). This ensures that your little gift package will be very safe in reaching your ally, since you might usually want to send the package as fast as possible without fear of it crashing. In that case you can give it high speed and turning speed as well. Or you could go totally "top secret" - make it stealth and invisible to radar. This further prevents enemies (or other allys) from discovering that you are giving something to a friend, so you can make safe and secure transactions

The Soviets will have an advantage with this unit once they build an Industrial Plant. They will be able to make money by building many of these Choppers, deploying them, destroying the aid package, and collecting the crate. But you can either accept this as a slight advantage that the Soviets have, or you can make hte build time of the choppers long enough to deter the player from mass-producing them.

Of course, this whole thing won't be much use against a comp. player, unless you feel sorry for it's terrible AI (I do)
