Now I'm conventing menus, options in FA2 to russian for my friends who don't speak english. They I'd like to translate TX FAData.ini

I had started a Language Pack for RA2YR months ago -Spanish, Portuguese & Italian-, left it. Was too damn useless, the game is too old and such things should have been done eons before. Maybe ill remake the CSFs again sometime, but i seriously doubt it, its too much work. Ill see if i can find older files that may be of use.

A base 1.001 language pack is very useful for localisation of mods, but translations should still be done by people who know both the mods first language and the target localisation.

Blade makes a very good point. Making a translation from a translation can result in very odd results.

I had some games translated such way and by people who understand nothing in terminology the result was stunning

For example:
Juggernaut (a kind of ship) was translated as two words - Judge Night (I think translator knows english so bad that he even doesn't know how this words are written)
It won't be wonder if this man doesn't know how to use dictionary

P.S. This has no relation to translators from this forum. This is only example.
