Grenades
Hello everyone! I made a unit (like a conscript) who can deploy and throw grenades. I copied the 120mm entrie and changed the code, and it works, but exploding instantly after it touch the floor. I want to know if i can do that the grenade bounce a little bit before exploding. This will be very realistic.
There is a bouncy tag in rules.ini, but i think it is residual from TS or other game, coz no other weapon uses it.
also, i want to make it very inaccurate, for that i have the Inaccurate=yes and the Flakscatter=yes tags,but that is not enough.

Bouncy=yes is resudial from TS and does not work.
You could try to make an explosion anim featuring the grenade lying
on the ground for 1-3 secs, but then damage would be dealt as soon it
hits the floor.
Then you would have to move the damage to the animation, and make it
damage at the point of the explosion part of the anim.

havent edited YR in awhile.. couldnt you have it use a particle(system?) that delt damage rather then the actaul weapon? have it released after the animation possibly? itd give a splash damage, have it go fast.. just a thought.

Particle systems can make older PC's lag bigtime.

hey kravvitz hadnt seen you in awhile  well, i donno bout lag, but it could possibly work as a solution for his problem.
BTW, sleips is gone i do believe, you should update your siggy

I still say use the impact grenade launcher instead of a hand grenade, pretty much no real new animations needed.

Sammy Stallion uses a grenade launcher in a RA2YR mission w/c you must destroy all the grinders in Hollywood and in some areas in the map there are some civilian heroes such as Arnie and Flint.
about the 3 seconds delay for grenade upon impact onto ground, it can't be possible..

It might be, by fiddling with the anims rate of damage.

Particle Systems only lag because of the constant use of transparency to the images.

Actually, when I tried Bouncy=yes, I did get it to work, but not completely. The unit had to hit another unit with the bouncy weapon, and only from certain angles/distances. A little evidence that it was converted to become shrapnel code.
