General AI-Questions
Hi!
I have some Questions about the AI and improving them.
First:
In the Rules.ini there are many Entries which have to do something with the Behavior of the AI. But if I try to improve the AI with changing the Values, the AI will have some problems. The thing is, that I have no Idea, what Entries I may change and how I may change them. Can you give me a "compilation" of Changes, I can do for Improving the AI?
And now, Second:
Writing the AImd.ini I discovered a problem with the Group-Behavior: When I have a very big group of Units and I give the Order to "Gather at Enemy" or "Regroup at Base", it will get stuck with this, because the group is too big to fit into the small-defined gathering-radius. Is there a way to increase that radius? If not, how many Vehicles and Infantry can I put in a group, which has a Gather-Command?

----
Have you read the ai.ini guide? Anyway, even if you have, it's likely you'd be confused. A great many of the rules entries will not behave quite the way you expect until you experiment with them. Be more specific, and I can tell you what I know.
As for your gather and regroup commands, try:
Stray=4.0
RelaxedStray=6.0 ;; note-- this required for larger groups!
GuardModeStray=4.0
I've gathered a lot more than 16.
Also, take advantage of the supporting mission. This allows you to double up, above and beyond what the above will allow.
Make sure you try these out as a human. You're going to notice that the human's play experience will differ with these values, and you need to adjust it to something that real players can tolerate.
Also, you might experiment with triggers that don't regroup or gather.

Well, what is "Teamdelays" ?
They seem to be the delay's between creating Teams, as the name says, but why the hell has the Hard AI a bigger Value than the Weak AI? Its Easy, Medium, Hard, or not? o_O
Another Question concerning this:
Are these Values in Seconds? Or in Milliseconds? Or in something completely different?

The value is in frames; their actual time depends on the game rate (fast, etc). No, it's not always easy, medium, hard. Sometimes it's vice versa, and sometimes even where the Deezire guide states it clearly, the guide is wrong. I haven't documented all cases. Myself, I currently only have one difficultly level: "impossible". So I set everything the same.
