That and the fact that having a right mouse button means it could sometimes be helpful to try using it.

Yes, but it is only compatible with Macs with the MOStek 6502 chip.

You guys have grown too acustomed to XCC programs. The Mixer is daunting - there's not even a "Help" option in the menu. It is far less friendly compared to most other software, for example, MS Word. Just hit F1 and you have a comprehensive bible of info at your fingertips. Much better than having to go online to hunt for help in forums or hard to read help pages.

I hate Word. Its menu ordering makes no sense. It keeps thinking it knows what I want to do when it really doesn't. I spend more time trying to get it to stop doing things that I don't want it to do, than trying to get it to actually do something useful. When I need to make a formatted document I tend to write it in html instead, because notepad doesn't try to "think for me".

XCC, by comparison, makes a lot of sense.

Wow Ren, that's pretty impressive. So you agree, XCC is not user/n00b friendly.

Looks like you agree too Cannis - while Word offers extreme amounts of help, being user friendly, XCC does not. That makes it conveniant. Same for me - I hate Word.

Let me kind of re-define "user-friendly": the "user" part really refers to people who are not very good with computers. Or people who have never used a particular program before. Or n00bs. XCC Mixer is most definately NOT user-friendly. The first time you see it you become overwhelmed and you don't know where to start using it. But in something like word, the thing throws stuff at you to try to help. Word is user-friendly, just not very friendly to people like us who prefer fast, no-nonsense programs. We are not the "user" in user-friendly in this case.

Hmm, I hope I got my point across... damn communication disability...

I agree that you need a certain amount of intelligence to use the XCC tools. However, I do not think this amount needs to be very high.

And actually, I don't see your problem. Let's take the Mixer for example:
You open it up. You see a standard, explorer-like navigation tab. If you can't use that, you shouldn't use windows in the first place. Then you realize there's two borders in the middle. Being a good trained windows-user, you find the second tab. Then you want to open a mix. How do you do that? Right. The exact same way that works for every other windows-program: File --> Open. On your way you notice the Found > submenu, and find that most mixes have already been loaded. So you select one, and, voilá, there is the content you've been searching for. Now how do I get it outta there? Hmm. Let's try a right click. Why do we try a right click? Right. Because everything file-related in windows is accessable through right click. ...and so on.

Same goes for the Mix Editor or the Mod Creator. Easier than obvious isn't possible. And if someone needs a manual to working with buttons called "New", "Open", "Save" or "Compress", he shouldn't be using a computer in the first place.

I agree with you that having documentation is always better than having none. But given that all functions in Olaf's tools are named after what they do, I wouldn't consider them user unfriendly. You just need to be smart enough to see the blindingly obvious.
