Default installing mods on redalert 2

anyone know how to get mods installed and working if so please help me out thank chris

Read the readme that came with the mod. Stuff you download that has no readme is probably something you don't want to trust, so in that case, just delete it.

they came with readme files but i did everything the read me said to do and it still wont work

While I enjoy watching this, let's speed it up a little
- What exactly does the readme tell you to do?
- And what exactly did you do?

teh mod was aftermath it told me to exstract it to the game directory so i did then it said to start the game and it would be installed i did that and all i got was the reg ra2

Was it perhaps a Yuri mod? Is there a rules.ini lying in our game directory?

IT depends if the mod came with an installer, if it did, you'll have to launch the game through that.

If not, when you extract the mod files, make sure you click 'yes' on any 'do you want to overwrite ____.__?' alerts.

well first of what game is the mod for?

RA2 or YR?

* Next you need the patches for these games, you can get them from the westwood ftp folder.

* Then does it have a installer by XCC? If so you should just need to launch.

* Otherwise it should have a ecacheXX (XX standing for 01-99) and a MD after ecache if YR mod and a expandXX with md if YR.

* If its a newbee mod it will probably have loose ini files and a ecache file.
