did you just used new shp's for the old power planet ?
(IMO not rewrited rules.ini)
If you did this can happen for many reasons
1) where do you set your shp's ?
the game reads files in special order
if it reads your shp first, and then the original shp then it will override your files
try to leave them loose in the directory (at least for test)
2) check the names of your files
do they have correct name as in rules.ini?
(for example gapowr.shp and gapowr_a.shp for allied power plant)
check this

I'm going to take a stab at this, and assume you have only one version of the image, and it's named NAPOWR.SHP, and you're not testing by loading a snow map.

Read.

darkchild, you made a newbie-helping thread and yet you ask a newbie question yourself? I'm confused

Well I just see the " trying to add a power plant" part that Darkchild wrote or generally anything along the lines of "How do I add a new..." and the alarm bells start ringing. But good point Cannis, I have been modding for over 2 years and I haven't even touched particle systems yet. Mind you, the particle system is not a newbie thing really, is it? I really should get around to it. But I can't think of anything I could use it for, so why bother?

Particle systems, yeah you can get away without making new ones. But particles themselves, they have lots of uses.

If I could get them working as railgun effects it would be nice. But I don't even know if it's worth the effort - I can already see teh railgun shots in the game, but they could be more defined.
