earthquake ideas
i got a question here- is it possible, to give a superweapon instead of lightning storm, make it EarthQuake instead? from what i gather on supers and such, and from the unit in deezires mod, the hammer and sickle, would you be able to crank the damage, make it have an anim. that makes cracks appear, and then buildings in a 10x10 radius be seriously damaged or destroyed, and units be heavily injured or destroyed, and make it a building, image preferably like an oil derrick, but bigger, if possible, and then, finally, range of entire map, so that the super's image=oil derrick's image, (forget what its called) and its range is the size of a huge map, and you can create an earthquake that damages 10x10 tiles? or even just all across the map, little earthquakes that then topple buildings? i realize i would have to make a whole new series of anims. to show the building imploding, and it would be difficult......but is it possible?

remove all the cloud and lightning anims and sounds and use those ShakeXlo, ShakeXhi, ShakeYlo2, ShakeYhi.
as craters you specify some huge graphics which looks like opened ground.

Realize that on the weatherstorm, the warhead is triggered a dozen times throughout the action; either reduce what used to be the lightning bolts, or make every bolt do a part of the damage.
Nice idea, though. May I adopt it?

go right ahead, i dont mind......in any case, ill probably put it into my mod now that i know itll work. one more thing though- is it possible to change the image of the WeatherStorm building and icon to something of my own creation? like, building looking like an oversized Oil Derrick, and image looking like a crack in the earth?

oh, and more thing- pd, does ur patch do anything physically noticed in-game without modding? i downloaded it, but........i dont know about what it actually does in-game...sorry for double-posting. and pd, also on subject of your patch, could i get you to help me with some EXE editing? i dont know how to do it, but i know you can do what i want with EXE editing: make it so that, just like maps, my mod gets transferred temporarily or pernamently to others? and ill make it work in a way that they click a button and it uninstalls......can you help me with that? and renegade, if you do use the idea, could you send me the coding of what you do?i want to try to learn from it......

Erm, yes you can change the buildings, icons etc? :tard:
If you're serious and didn't know that, I'd suggest you to get some tutorials about modding....
Same for the Earthquake code. It's kinda easy to do it.
No, my patch doesn't change anything if you don't tell it do change anything.
Though, it enables Urban and Desert random maps. You can't turn that off.
But why would you?
If you want to know what my patch does,

If you want to edit EXE files,
1. learn assembly,
2. learn machine code,
3. figure out how EXEs work (the PE header, the most interesting thing  )
I won't explain that to you, it's MUCH too much.
And no, there aren't any tutorials on EXE editing I think, and there aren't any on machine code (there are OpCode tables though, I use those).
I figured the most thing out myself.
And no, I'd only make EXE edits either for the whole community or for myself.
A bit selfish, yes, but imagine you're the only person in the community who edits the EXE (with success)...

Don't call it an Earthquake. Make up some cool name for it. I'm good at that. Yeah, that's how I'll help you make your mod! I'll think up the new unit and strcuture names!
Call it Terra Terminus. Or Terra Fracturer. Or Terra Disruptor. Something with "Terra" in it...
