Genetic Research Lab
I am setting up a genetic research lab and what I want it to be is a building, similar to the armory. Except when the unit comes out it isn't elite it is a Brute, no matter what unit gets sent in. I don't want to be told this can/cant be done and how to do it/not do it. Just a simple poll to see if you like it and think it will be interesting.
Note the Brute is not buildable in the mod, only through genetic mutator and this lab. If this works I have plans to remake the mutator into something else... something very interesting.... ...

hmmm..........sounds cool- i was going to use the same TYPE of thing in my mod, except slightly diff though......i couldn't make it work though. ok, ill post for ur poll.

Incorrect. Not directly, but possibly through mutation-hacks.
Yet, it's a pretty boring idea. Oh wow, I send my people in there and they become Brutes! Yay! I'd rather have an Armory.

Hacks, such as? ActiveAnimGarrisoned? Even if that works and doesn't destroy the building, which I doubt, it's more pain than it's worth.

It's so much harder than actually just building Brutes - if you want Brutes, why should you have to build normal infantry first, then dump them in a building somewhere? Besides that, it doesn't fit Allied style at all...

whoever said it was allied? it could be soviets or yuri doing it....But, mine was much more simple- a weapon with the mutation stuff on it fires, shoots the opponents infantry, and turns them brute....and it was a base defene. but it had gitches.......

Oh yeah. I somehow thought it was a Neutral building, but it would indeed fit Yuri. My first point is still valid though.

yeah, your first point WAS valid. Very valid, at that......but his idea will be VERY difficult to pull off......But, I think I know how. Very difficult......Psico, do you have any idea how YOU were going to do it? If not, I can help......Mainly, I think it would be like a Barracks, And the guy goes in, and the building, with a 1 square range(only in its square), shoot the infantry with the Mutation Weapon, effectively creating exactly what he wanted.....Think it would work? I can't test it, so.......And renegade, you gotten any progress on the EarthQauke?

The building wouldn't shoot infantry that's on the same side, now would it?
