I'm Back. Who wants to join me?
HELLO ALL! I don't know if anyone of you who are still here remember me, but anyway, I started a mod with a few guys entitled "Final Countdown"(although it was really just a placeholder name).
Its purpose was to be a skirmish/multiplayer mod, where new units would be added, and each country that represents allies/soviets/yuri would have separate technological trees. IE, there would be two soviet teams, and they would each have their own tech tree, one with fire-based & one with tesla-based tech trees. This went for the other two teams, they would each have two "factions", replacing the normal countries available for selection.
Anyway, I was a very good and experienced .ini coder back when I was into this scene, and so I can learn everything again really fast. I also have more skills now in terms of art, sound, and music. If anyone can remember me, give me a shout out, maybe I'll recognize you(especially the team members who I abandoned) ! The last time I was modding for these games was about 2 years ago.
So, if you wish to join in on reviving this project, or starting a completely different project for RA2:YR altogether, post here and let's get started -- again!!

It's one thing to leave, another thing entirely to actually come back. Props to you for that. Most of the time it is team members who leave, but your situation is different. You may end up having to recruit new members entirely, just thought I'd warn you. But first you'd better try and attract some attention. Do you have a site? A plan?

Hmm. Good idea. A site... we used to have a forum section on PPM devoted to our mod, IE progress reports, screenshots, polls on what kind of stuff to add, so I might want to get that again. I think for now my plan is really just to get back into the modding of RA2 and YR, maybe release a small fun mod, or like you said, attempt to recruit some new members.
All I need is a voxel editor/maker, and possibly a SHP artist, although I might be able to handle that.... I remember finding a shitload of great voxel and shp resources for RA2 on websites in the past, hopefully I can find those sites again. Of course then its hard to make the units and buildings exactly as you want them...
Could anyone hook me up with links to really good modding resources? If not, I'll just find them myself... just asking in case you know of some really good but obscure sites.
Help, feedback, any comments appreciated!
EDIT: How does this new "tech shop" thing work, where you have to "buy" the right to show your avatar?? Once you buy this right, you can change your avatar freely and it will always show, right?
OH YEAH... What are some mods released for RA2 and YR in the past year or two that are really awesome, that I may have missed? (To Whiteboy - No worries, I see your sig)
