That'll come in time DC
daedra, cheers But just wait 'til you see version 1.5...
Anyway, I'll try to help you further. In English (!).
Basically what you have is the RA2 folder, with all the game data (except for music and a few other things, which remain on the game CDs). To mod, you need to edit that data. But you can't just open up the files and edit them. No chance. The files you want to edit are packaged together in a few large files called .mix files. There is a program called the XCC Mixer that allows you to "see" inside those mix files and pick out (extract) the individual files for editing. Once you have edited them, you can, with some files, just place them in the RA2 folder. And as long as those files are there, the game will load them every time and thus be changed to whatever changes you made. For a half decent mod though, you will have to put those files back into a mix file, and place the mix file in the RA2 folder. This is also done with the XCC tools...
... but times have changed a bit and now it's easier than ever to make mods for YR. instead of putting the edited files back into a mix, and having to place a file in a folder every time you want to enable the mod, you can simply use the XCC Mod Creator program. This essentially does the file shifting for you, but it's more than that. All you do is place the files you edited into their relevant categories (e.g. animations, cameos, sounds) and then compile a simple exe launcher program. This program, when activated, will let you play YR with your mod on, and after you have finished playing the mod, it will disable it. So no hassle with moving files all the time. Most popular mods are made using this launcher. Do a Google for "XCC Utilities" and you'll find the place to get all this XCC stuff.
Hope that helps

It's easier to make something good from scratch than from a pile of shit.
Ok, that is over the top in this situation, but it has the right idea.

Good luck lol. I'll be looking forward to see your mod. And try downloading some art programs like voxel section editor 3 and those things.

want to try another good mod?
here's mins
requires PDs patch, so i recomend you find and download 1.05c. although 1.04c is included, 1.05c is more stable in multiplayer. I'm currently working on a version of the mod designed around 1.05c, i would be working on 1.06(because i have it) but it doesn't work on my computer for some odd reason. works on everyone elses, and 1.05c works on mine, but 1.06, just doesn't..........
