You know, it's not like there is actually a manual to read regarding the rules fire/modding in general. Imagine a PC game that came with an official modding manual. Even open source... how intriguing...

that's why i question-marked it :P
but well, the sense is, use da f***** search function, browse deezire, browse other C&C sites... here, you will only get complains about such a question.

hm... btw, is there any compilation of tutorials which actually show newbs how to begin and teach them stuff in a good order?
I'm not thinking of a "school" like Death[anynumber] but a compilation of beginner tutorials would be really good.
getting started is always the hardest part...

Yes, starting out is a hurdle. But I believe a good modder doesn't even think about "getting started" or anything like that. The mod is naturally born from his creative mind and because of enthusiasm and aspirations, it's easy. As for beginner tutorials... yes there exist a few. I'm pretty sure that Ren and DCoder could point you to them, since they exist on their sites... I'm no expert in that matter since I never looked at such pages

There is one at PlanetCNC. It is for TS though, but everyone should start on TS

I started in TS too.The first custom unit i made was a jumpjet-plasma firing-unbeatable-Umagon :lol: But i was only 11-12 years old(hell it's been 7 years)
