simply giving the the comet weapon would be unballanced, but giving them a weaker laser/prism beam would work.

As the lunar infantry, suppose that one only appears in YR.
I remember that long ago I once added the rocketeer the LunarLaser weapon, but I changed the warhead verses. When I just built the rocketeer I got an IE, instantly, I was pretty sure that it was because I didn't added the new warhead to the warheads list, but I thought that when I dont add a new warhead to the list I can got an IE, ocassionaly, and not in the beginning of the game, or when I create the unit that uses it.
I think I was wrong, or something else happened, I checked the inis and nothing was wrong... Duh! I went too far, sorry for getting this way in your topic MattCore...

its ok, all that does is lag the game really, its just alot of fun, i made the weapon weaker anyway, and made the prism tanks faster with a faster rof, its primarily an anti-infantry/artillery-support weapon now. mirroring the improved flak weaponry. the tank destroyer takes the role of well, destroying tanks...(the prism tower is still a formidable defense.)
about the rocketeers.. i always thought they were TOO good in normal play. cheap fast and powerfull, with AA and better movement abilites then any other in the game. giving them any sort of weapon like the comet, while being fun, is too much.

imo, the rocketeers arn't too strong, you just need some AA to counter them.

Like two flak tracks to prevent the ginormous rocketeer rushes of 6 guys the AI deploys...

hmm.. i left out the part about them being primarily good for quick response and defense, with about 20 or so i can easily control an 8 player match (against "brutal" ai anyway) simply put, if used correctly rocketeers were the best unit in the game. their shouldnt even be a "best" unit.
or maybe ive just never been tank rushed :P

if you get rushed with 20 lestechs, or a fleet of floating disks and magnatrans, you'll know about helplessness.
same goes for well, i dunno, those yuri units are just devestating!!!
makes me want to review the weapon of that lestech.

untill then, i will continue to rely on rocketeers in _normal_ ra2. (not in my version however)
(ive never played yr, but ive done enough reading to know that a group of rocketeers will take out a fleet of floating disks)

Well, floating disks seem to be prety effective against rocketeers. Trust me, I play YR online a lot.
