Thanks in advance if anyone actually has the time/knowledge to help me out & Sorry if these questions have been answered elsewhere, I did look first.

I want to start making small my mod, mainly for learning purposes. (I'm new to RA2 modding but have web design/graphics and small game making experience so i think i can pull it off with the right help and tutorials)

I'm having trouble finding a tutorial dealing with the absolute basics of modding, for example...

The locations of rules.ini, How the HVA, VXL, SHP files are grouped and stored. Where cameo's are stored and how they are joined to thier item.

Ive found many tutorials about adding certain elements to the mod but not one actually telling me where everything should go. So if anybody could maybe give me a short run over of the basics or a link to a beginners tutorial I'd be very grateful.

I have alot of the files I want to use for my mod and a clean copy of RA2, Im just stuck on how to go about adding them to the game.

I also have XCC Mixer & Mix Editor. I was told Id need them.

Have you read Deezire's tutorial files available for download? You will need OpenOffice if you don't have MS Word to open them.
