Default Removing the chaos gas from crate drops

how would i go about making sure choas gas doesnt come out of a crate?

yea, running the deezire mod, sorry. i downloaded those xcc utilities, and from what i coudl gather there was this header in rules.ini called [powerups] where it had the crate powerups listed, but there were liek 3 different rules.ini and i tried to change a few by like commenting out what i thought was the choas gas, but it didnt work.. so i concluded i dont know a darn thing about what im doing and figured id ask.....

How about you run a different mod then if you don't like aspects of DeeZires rather than trying to mess around with it? AFAIK the chaos gas effect is created by using an animation called by one of the powerup crates in the section you mention. There should be 2 rules.ini files, rules.ini itself and rulesmd.ini. Modify the first one to affect RA2 and the second one to affect YR.

Try changing [PsychGasCreate] warhead to:

[PsychGasCreate]
CellSpread=3
PercentAtMax=1
Verses=0%,0%,0%,0%,0%,0%,0%,0%,0%,0%,0%
InfDeath=1
AnimList=CDGAS
Psychedelic=no

And make Psychic Beacon unbuildable for AI.
