Default C&C Video formats

Forgive me, but I simply have to ask... I own, along with most of the stand-alone products, the DVD-ROM collection, Command & Conquer: The First Decade.

Now, i'm very interested in either finding a tool to play the videos each game has, extract the videos, or convert them to a standard format such as avi or mpeg.

I'm asking here because I need the best tools, and the file extention library helpfully pointed to a program on this site for the original C&C.

I'm guessing that the files are archived and would need to be unpacked from the main file.

Again, I know it's probably really simple, but I wanted to make sure I did it the best way the first time.

You will need XCC Mixer. The videos are either in .vqa (TD, RA, TS) or .bik (RA2) formats. Open XCC Mixer, navigate it to the game CD, you'll most certainly find "movies*.mix" (For RA, open "MAIN.MIX", then you'll find movies*.mix inside it). Open them, and voila, you can extract the movies now. Mind you, they are pretty large, and the old (TD, RA) ones are in pretty low quality.

.vqa is playable with XCC AV Player, .bik is playable with RAD Video Tools.

Thanks for the quick help. Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I was out of town for a few days.
