Default Modding a Flamethrower

:lol: Ok I get all the images and ini codes done and I am about to test my new RA2 YR unit, a Flamethrower, and it . . . :| doesn't work .

Ok no problem I modify and edit the code a little more, and i test again, and it fails again :dead: .

Ok onto the real problem I need help with. As above I have created a unit, using the TIBED editor. What should work for the Projectile doesn't.
The flamethower infantry unit fires but there is no flame coming out, and still the enemy unit fired on bursts into flames.

How do I make a Flamethrower infantry unit like on Red Alert One? What I really need is the weapon to act like a flamethrower, like the weapon used by the Devil's Tounge in Tiberian Sun and Firestorm. I think the problem is the projectile, but nothing seems to work.

BTW I don't personally have Red Alert One nor have I Played it, I do however have Tiberian Sun, and Firetorm, and have played it.

You obviously didn't RTFM before you posted, otherwise you'd know that
a) nobody's here anyway, and
b) nobody here can or will support TibEd.

If you are incapable of coding by hand, you obviously don't understand what you're coding. If you don't understand what you're coding, it's no wonder it doesn't work. And we have better things to do than hand-fix some crappy auto-generated code by a coder who doesn't know what he's doing.

I do know a little bit of ini code, but I am not sure of all the vairiables and limits to what I can do for the game. Thats why I used TIBED to make my ini scripts then I uses the XCC untilities to put them together in mods.

Also I did look at the tutorals, Encyclopedia, and topics and I didn't see anything about flamethrowers.

And when i search i get the same three - four sights no matter what the topic of cnc I search. YRARG, Raidens Den, CnCGames, CnCsource, and revora.

so thanks for the RTFM link, w/e RTFM means :lol:

I'd do it manually but I'm afraid i'd screw the game up. Last time I did it from hand i did something wrong and well I had to reinstall the game but when i play online games every time i win or loose a game my entire computer restarts itself.

On some of the forum entries it is talking about a miror file, what does that mean and is that how i can get a flamethrower?

Oh and btw Thanks for your time, you understand there arn't too many people out there that will actually help. thats why i like deezire its a good forum and i'm sorry so many good posters/players left.

Well... The flamethrowing animation does not exist in RA2/YR. You'll have to do something about the arts if you want to see the flames.

Don't ask me how... I only give you the idea.

IMO, the easiest way to do it is to look at how it worked in tibsun, that still works in RA2/YR, just make to to extract the SHPs, convert to PCX using the TS palette, then convert back to SHP(TS) using the RA2 Palette, and add those to your mod.
