New Infantry SHP
Perhaps the title was a bit misleading... Allow me to explain:
I'm working on a mod for Tiberian Sun, just sort of for fun, but I made a new infantry image for it, and I need a little help. See, I've made all of the frames in paint, using colors from Will's SHP Editor, and I was thinking I'd use Jasc Paint Shop Pro to get them in the right pallete, and then use the XCC Mixer to put them into SHP format. Ok, that part's all good and well, but what about the shadow images? Do I make them and put them in too? Is there anything I do different with them? Or do they just appear when I open the SHP in Will's SHP Editor, or what?
Forgive me if this is a n00bish question, and I've overlooked a tutorial somewhere, I just haven't done this in a while. I figure you guys know about all this stuff, since RA2 and TS are so similar.
Thanks for the help, and if you want to see a screenshot of the new unit I'll take one, but I'm not going to put the SHP up for download, since it's going in my mod.

I thought you just had to make the green shadow on the same images as the infantry.

Unless you've done this before, and you're sure...

for infantry the shadow is always done on the same image. The only exceptions are the cow and the camel.

I understand now, someone explained it to me. You use "split shadow" in xcc mixer.
Btw, shadow is pink in TS, not green.
Thanks for your help guys. As promised, here's a screenie:

let me know what you think.

It doesn't matter...the shadow split feature was originally for converting old TD and RA images to TS and it works on index 4 in the pallet, no matter what the colour is (its green in the unit pallets). Use that to draw the shadow directly onto each pcx frame (DO NOT use SHP editor, it is not finished and does not handle the file format correctly...it should never have become as public as it is). When you convert to .shp (TS) you enable shadow split and then convert. It will split the green off into the correct frames and will change the colour to the correct index. Note that in TS all infantry had shadow split shadows unlike in RA2 where infantry mainly have a black shadow drawn onto each frame and black extra frames at the end.

Blade, first of all thanks for the help, but I was wondering what exactly you meant by this. I know Will's SHP Editor has its drawbacks, (And believe me, there are LOTS of drawbacks, like not being able to cut and paste, etc.) but does it actually have bugs in it? Will it screw up SHP's and stuff? I was under the impression that it was a pretty good tool.
By the way, Kravvitz... No offense taken, but I think you're being a little too hard on my zombie. Perhaps you're just too used to the high-quality RA2 SHP's... The ones in TS are supposed to look... well... Not that they look bad but... Different, there's the word. I tried to make my zombie sort of fit in with them, and I think he looks pretty good.
In fact, I'm happy with him, I wouldn't change a thing. The sides look a little weird, but that's ok. As I said, no offense taken, I appreciate constructive criticizm... But I think my zombie looks darn good. Hey, at least it's not as bad as Blade's infantry units (JUST KIDDING Blade! )
